What does A Safe Place do?
A Safe Place is the sole provider of services exclusively addressing domestic violence and human trafficking in Lake County, Illinois. Through multi-faceted programs we assist victims in transforming their lives after domestic violence and trafficking situations, prevent future abuse by addressing its root cause through abuser intervention programs, and educate the community about dv and ht and how we can all be involved in its end.
Supporting the Family
A Safe Place's emergency shelter and permanent and transitional homes can provide safe and secure housing for brave survivors and their families.
Empowering the Individual
A Safe Place offers individual and group counseling, family therapy, art therapy, supervised visitations and monitored custody exchanges.
Nurturing the Community
A Safe Place staff and volunteers reach out to more than 31,000 members of the community through education outreach, prevention education, programs, and services.
